Building Code Violations - Union County’s Building Code Enforcement is responsible for all parts of the county, except for the City of Monroe and the Town of Waxhaw.

Environmental Health - Union County Environmental Health is responsible for the enforcement of State and local rules and regulations related to the following program areas:

• Food, Lodging and Institutions
• Children’s Environmental Health
• Onsite Water Protection: Septic Systems and Wells and Water Testing
• Illegal dumping or accumulation of solid waste on property

Zoning and Development Violations - Union County’s Zoning Administrator is responsible for enforcement of the county’s development ordinance and investigating possible zoning and development violations in the unincorporated parts of Union County and Hemby Bridge.

Runoff or Stormwater Issues - Union County is responsible for stormwater review of development in the unincorporated parts of Union County and Hemby Bridge.
